January 一月

New Year's Day ( January 1 )
Celebrations will culminate on New Year's Eve,starting in the evening and ending in the early hours of the New Year.

There are countdowns, big fireworks displays, shopping in malls and street markets, dance parties, concerts, parties in restaurants, bars and restaurants...etc.

元旦新年 ( 一月一日 )

Lunar New Year ( Chinese Calendar January 1 )
It is the biggest festival of the year in Hong Kong.
The Lunar New Year holiday is three days, and some folks may take more than two weeks.

On New Year's Eve, everyone will go to the flower market to buy all kinds of flowers, souvenirs, and add new clothes to the home.
At the beginning of the first day of the new year, there will be family gatherings and congratulatory gifts and red envelopes will be distributed.

All kinds of large-scale performances and celebrations, such as parade parades, lion dance performances, fireworks in the night sky of Victoria Harbour, and horse races.
Shatin Che Kung Temple, Wong Tai Sin Temple, there will be large-scale sacrifices and worship activities, praying for a better year.

Theme parks such as Hong Kong Disneyland, Ocean Park, etc. will also have large-scale events themed on the Chinese New Year.

農曆新年 ( 中國曆 一月一日 )
是香港一年中最盛大的節日。
農曆新年假期為三天,民間有些可能會長達兩個星期多。

在除夕夜,大家會到花卉市場,購買各類花卉、紀念品,為家居添新裝。
年初一開始,會有家庭聚會和亙相送祝賀禮物、派發紅包利事。

各類的大型表演及慶祝活動,如花車巡遊表演、舞獅表演、在維多利亞港的夜空燃放煙花、 馬場跑馬活動。
沙田車公廟,黃大仙廟,會有大型的祭祀、崇拜活動,祈求更好一年。

香港迪斯尼樂園、海洋公園 ... 等主題公園,亦會以農曆新年為題的大型活動。

April 四月

Ching Ming Festival ( Lunar March 5 )
It is a day to commemorate ancestors. People will go to worship ancestors' cemeteries, tombs, arrange headstones, remove weeds, burn incense and offer sacrifices to commemorate ancestors.

清明節 ( 農曆 三月五日 )
是紀念祖先的日子,人們會去拜祭祖先墓地、墳塋、整理墓石 ,清除雜草,焚香及祭奠品,來紀念祖先。

Easter Hoilday ( April 15 - 17 )
Church members participate in church commemorations to remember the crucifixion, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
The public is on this long holiday, traveling, celebrating, having meals, shopping and entertaining.

In the streets, shops and shopping malls, Easter bunnies and Easter eggs are also decorated everywhere, adding color and atmosphere to the festival.
At the same time, there will also be many foreign tourists who come for vacation, play and celebration.

復活節 ( 四月十五至十七日 )
教徒會參加教會的記念活動,去追憶耶穌基督的受難、死亡及複活。
大眾就在這個長假期,出外旅遊、舉行慶祝活動、聚餐,購物和娛樂。

在街道,商店、商場到處也會裝飾著復活兔子和復活彩蛋,使節日增添色彩和氣氛。
同時亦會有很多外來遊客,到來渡假、遊玩、慶祝。








May 五月

Labor Day ( May 1 )
Labor Day is a long holiday in mainland China, so many tourists from mainland China come to Hong Kong to shop and play.
They will go to theme parks, Disneyland, Ocean Park, go shopping in famous store streets and markets, go to restaurants to find food, and even look at real estate.

勞動節 ( 五月一日 )
勞動節在中國大陸是一個長假期,所以有很多來自中國大陸的遊客,到香港去購物及遊玩。
他們會到主題公園,迪斯尼樂園、海洋公園遊玩,到名店街、市集購物,到食店找美食,甚至看房地產。

Buddha's Birthday ( Lunar April 8 )
Commemorating Buddha's birthday. Also known as "Buddha Filling Day" or "Buddha Bathing Festival".

Buddhists go to Sha Tin Wanfo Temple and other Buddhist temples to pay homage, and the Po Lin Monastery on Lantau Island, which is located in the world's most magnificent outdoor bronze sitting Buddha statue, offers the most incense.

In Cheung Chau, there is a "Tai Ping Qing Feast" event. Many tourists will visit Cheung Chau and eat local festive delicacies.

佛誕 ( 農曆四月初八 )
紀念佛陀的誕辰。又稱 "灌佛日"、"浴佛節"。

佛教徒會前往沙田萬佛寺等佛寺參拜,而位於全球最宏偉的戶外青銅坐佛佛像的大嶼山寶蓮禪寺,供奉的香火最為鼎盛。

在長洲就有 "太平清醮" 活動,很多遊人,旅客會到長洲遊玩,吃當地節日美食。

Mother's Day ( Second Sunday in May )
To express their love for Mother's Day, many families will bring their mothers to dinner. Although it is not a public holiday, the food market and restaurants will be crowded on that day.
Families often send carnation flowers to their mothers.

母親節 ( 五月 第二個 星期日 )
值著對母親節的關愛表達,很多家人會帶母親聚餐, 雖然不是公共假日,當日的食市、餐館會擠得水洩不通。
家人亦多會送康乃馨花給母親。







June 六月

Dragon Boat Festival ( Lunar May 5 )
A wonderful festival of water dragon boat races with teams even from overseas.
The protagonist of the Dragon Boat Festival food is "zongzi", all kinds of zongzi can also be bought in restaurants, restaurants, food markets, snack stalls, and everywhere.

端午節 ( 農曆 五月五日 )

July 七月

Anniversary of the Establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region ( July 1 )
The anniversary of the establishment of the Special Administrative Region commemorates the handover of sovereignty of Hong Kong by the United Kingdom to the People's Republic of China.

In the morning at the Golden Bauhinia Square in Wanchai, there will be a large-scale flag raising ceremony.
During the day, there are large and small carnivals all over the place. There is a fireworks display in the evening.

香港特別行政區成立紀念日 ( 七月一日 )
特別行政區成立紀念日是為了紀念英國把香港的主權移交至中華人民共和國。

早上在灣仔金紫荊廣場,會有大型的升旗儀式。 日間四處有大大小小的嘉年華活動。 晚上就有煙花匯演節目。

Student Summer Holiday Months
July and August are summer holidays for students.
Many families choose to travel abroad, or play around.

September 九月

Mid-Autumn Festival ( Lunar August 15 )
On the night of the Mid-Autumn Festival, every family will gather for family.

A wide variety of lanterns hang high, in vintage, fashion and traditional paper.
Children everywhere carry lanterns to play with their families.
Large-scale lantern festivals are indispensable for fire dragon dance activities.

Mooncakes are a must-have food for the Mid-Autumn Festival. There are many types and styles of mooncakes.
The public holiday falls on the day following the Mid-Autumn Festival.

中秋節 ( 農曆 八月十五日 )
中秋節當晚,家家戶戶會共聚天倫。

各式各樣的燈籠高高掛著,有古典、時尚與傳統紙製的。
四處的小童就提著花燈與家人一起遊玩。
舞火龍活動,大型的彩燈會就不可少。

月餅是中秋節必備的食品,月餅的種類款式多多,琳琅滿目。
公眾假期則在中秋節翌日。

October 十月

National Day ( October 1 )
China established the People's Republic of China in September 1949 and set the National Day on October 1 every year.
The flag raising ceremony was held in the morning.

The PLA has a carnival with citizens.
In the evening, there will be a festive evening show and a fireworks display.

中國於1949年九月成立中華人民共和國, 把國慶訂在每年十月一日。
早上舉行升國旗儀式。

Double Ninth Festival ( Lunar September 9 )
Similar to Qingming Festival, it is a day to commemorate ancestors.
People will go to worship ancestors' cemeteries, tombs, arrange headstones, clear weeds, burn incense and memorial offerings to commemorate ancestors.

重陽節 ( 農曆 九月九日 )
與清明節相似,是一個紀念祖先的日子。
人們會去拜祭祖先墓地、墳塋、整理墓石 ,清除雜草,焚香及祭奠品,紀念祖先。

New World Harbour Race ( October )
The "New World Harbour Race" held in October, organized by the Hong Kong Swimming Association of China, is divided into "Racing Groups" and "Leisure Groups".
It starts from the Golden Bauhinia Square Public Pier in Wanchai, Hong Kong and ends at the Avenue of Stars in Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon.

在十月舉行的「新世界維港泳」,由中國香港游泳總會主辦, 比賽分「競賽組」及「優悠組」。
起點由香港灣仔金紫荊廣場公眾碼頭至終點的九龍尖沙咀星光大道。

Halloween celebration ( October 31 )
Many people will go to Lan Kwai Fong and theme parks to celebrate.

November 十一月

Hong Kong Sevens ( November )
The Hong Kong Sevens was founded in 1976 by the Hong Kong Football Club.
It is the most popular sports event in Asia, attracting rugby players and fans from all over the world.
It is held at the Hong Kong Stadium in November every year.

香港國際七人欖球賽 ( 十一月 )
香港國際七人欖球賽,由香港足球會於1976年創辦。
是亞洲最受歡迎的體壇盛事,吸引來自世界各地的欖球好手及球迷。
於每年十一月,在香港大球場舉行。







December 十二月

RIDE, HONG KONG! ( December )
Sun Hung Kai Properties Hong Kong Cyclothon is set on December.
The event will kick off with the popular 50 km Ride and 30 km Ride for amateur and professional cyclists. Both rides will start from Tsim Sha Tsui East and feature various iconic landmarks.

Christmas ( December 25 )
